Square 1

An update on the past week or so.

After 4 months in sunny California, I had to bounce back to Seattle. Not something that I wanted to do, but just had to do. I do miss the sun and the warm weather. I drove 16 hours straight! Only stopping 3 times for gas (I love my civic!) Quoting Tien, I am "gangsta" for not sleeping or resting. Needless to say, I was pretty delirious and weirdly emotional too. Must of been the lack of sleep.

Last nite was Josh's surprise b-day party/dinner. The guys devised a Trekkie theme and it was pretty sweet. I got to see everyone which was really nice and so begins my life in Seattle again. I wouldn't be surprised if I left after another 2-3 months. I think I tend to do that a lot--

It's the weekend... I'm usually down in the OC during the weekend...sigh~

West Nile Virus

I've spotted 2 mosquitoes in the apt--maybe there's just one, but nevertheless, that little fucker is flying around. I tried to kill it numerous times, but failed miserably in each attempt. I'm worried that it'll suck my blood and leave bacteria in me when I'm in deep slumber. Fuk, fuk, fuk, fuk!

Anne went up to San Jose today. She won't be back till Monday so I'm all alone for the next couple of days--HOUSE PARTY!!!! Yeah, too bad I don't know anyone here =P
----------------------------------------------------
Update: I killed the fucker!!! Whoo-hoo!!!

NOOOO, its still ALIVE!

The I spot

There's been a spot on my back that has been itching for days! And it's such a pain in the ass cuz its the one spot taht I can't reach. Anyhoo, I asked Alice to ship me a back scratcher from Taiwan, but no need! I found a cheaper alternative--wooden disposable chopsticks! I just gotta remember to toss em after I'm done.

Road trip

Boy was I grilled today. I literally thought the interview today would be him telling me more about the position and if I had further questions. But no such luck. He asked about my marketing classes--ALL OF THEM--in great detail too.

"Give me a question that was on your test and how you answered it." "What was phase 1 of the marketing project? Did you talk to vendors, distributors and/or wholesalers?"

The list goes on and on... And I'm ashamed to admit this, but a lot of my responses were "I don't remember..." I guess my degree means shit.

And then he proceeded to my oh-so-extensive work history. I told him about my work study at Harbor View and he asked me the number of employees, their titles, their duties, blah blah blah...grrrrrr~

Anyway, I can kiss this job good-bye. I don't think he was impressed with me at all. Hey kids back home, I'ma comin back! Hey Kristi, wanna fly down to LA and drive back up with me?? I hear the scenery is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!~

OO, LAPD is hiring...... am I that desperate?

Tanning in November

Ever wake up in your own drool and wondered how'd the heck it happened? If you sleep face down of your course you're going to drool. But if you sleep on your back, how does it happen? Maybe a spider crawled into my mouth and drool was a sign of a 4 star pre-breakfast meal. >__<

It's Monday and as always, I hate Mondays. I don't have a specific reason or anything--Mondays are the pitts.

I went to shoot hoops a bit earlier today (around 11) and my gosh, it was a goregous day! Had to be around 70 degrees and I was so comfortable in my tank and shorts. One of the things I love about SoCal--warm weather!

I have my interview tomorrow morning with the Global Events company. I really don't know what to expect. I mean, I don't even know what the position is. For all I know, it could be a secretarial position and that's not going to float my boat at all.

The end of the month is nearing and it sure is getting suspenseful on what my next move is going to be. Oo, what a nail biter!

3 degrees of seperation

I've been reading some random guy's xanga posting lately and I think I'm starting to like him. Does that sound crazy? He's actually a friend of a friend but I have no idea who he is.

Anyway, I was just reading his posting and clicked on his friend that left him a comment and started to read her post. It's pretty amusing to read about people that lived and are still currently living in Taiwan. I can even bet my bottom dollar that we probably crossed paths one time or another and that we have mutual friends.

Main point of this posting--I saw Audrey's picture in her posting! It was so random! And on a different note, I saw Oliver's picture in another girl's xanga posting. We're all connected in some twisted, sick way in Taiwan. Man, I miss it there....

Wing woman

I should add "wing woman" either as my new profession or in my resume under "skills". In the past day or so I have assisted, assisted being the operative word, Janet with some boy troubles. Janet's a hot gal and of course any guy that's not blind would totally try to mack on her.

So she's talking to guy 1 on MSN and can't for the life of her remember his name and in comes me. Guy 1 is very chattery. Types a mile a minute and after we get aquainted, Janet leaves for the bathroom--leaves for like 20 mins! So here I am chatting with this total stranger and trying to get the 4-1-1 on him... In the end, I convinced him to ask Janet out and told him to be aggressive! At least she gets a free meal out of it. (You're welcome again!)

The next day, Janet's talking to guy 2. Guy 2 is the softer, quieter version of guy 1. One word responses and a lot of emoticions (what's up with that?). So my part was to figure out if guy 2 had the hots for Janet. To make a long and boring story short, I clicked myself out of the conversation b/c all they talked about were relationship stuff.

In conclusion to everything: Guy 1 is a major playa and Guy 2 would rather be a girl than a guy. Taiwanese guys have serious issues....

Blast from the past

Today started out like any normal non-working day. I woke up around 9, chatted with folks in Taiwan and went to a nearby park to shoot some hoops. After a good 30 mins, I was pooped. I was surfin the net when Ms. Jennifer Moore popped up on my caller id. Jennifer never calls out of the blue unless she wants something--and I was right. She and a friend just got in at LAX and needed a ride. Typical---but whatever, I was excited to see her.

We called Tien and she's going to try and catch a flight down tomorrow. How funny is that?

*Moment of priceless shockage: Jennifer pulled out a HUGE roll of TOILET PAPER from her purse b/c she's sick she prefers toilet paper b/c its softer.*

Something I just realized about the Decatur crew--we're a bunch of homebodies. How interesting--even Tien, the wild child, likes the quietness of home now. Must be the water.

Hey Astri, how do I add on the message link? I also want to add other people's blog sites as well. I guess I'm blog illiterate--I need a tutorial. Thanks!

In and out

Juan Karlos is coming! Juan Karlos is coming!

I'm not particularly close with Juan--well, I did take his shirt off at the beach party in Kenting back in April (ahh, good times)... Anyway, he's heading back to Costa Rica and he has a 4 hour lay over in LA and Alice asked me and Jeff if we had the time to meet up with him. Not a problem. It'd be nice to see him and to catch up.

An update on my previous post--I went on my interview yesterday in Irvine. The company is in a very sophisticated/posh business plaza that reminds me a lot of downtown Bellevue. I parked my good ol Civic next to a Porsche and a Beamer and proceeded to the building. The interviewer was very nice and had tremendous confidence in me because of my liberal arts degree background.

I thought the interview was decent--I even researched the industry (something that I was always too lazy to do) and maybe even impressed(?) him with my knowledge. He's interviewing another person for the same position tomorrow and will call me on Friday, regardless if I'm the one or not.

But having my luck, I'll be congratulating the bastard that he's interviewing tomorrow.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Couple weeks ago I got called in to interview for an Account Executive position for a Global Events Marketing company. If you read my posting on xanga, the interviewer suggested a position in Taiwan because of my background. Lo and behold he just called me and I'm meeting with the Managing Director on Tuesday!!! Whoo-hoo! Quite honestly, I don't know if I want to head back to Taiwan--if it works out, it'll be different this time around becuase I'll have an actual job. Maybe 4th times the charm?

Can't sleep, clown will eat me.

Another nite of sleeplessness. Just because I'm from Seattle does not give the powers taht be the right to induce insomnia on me! If I remember correctly, I difted into la-la land around 4am or so. Normally I wouldn't mind (okay thats a lie), but I have an interview today and I was counting on some zzzzz's. I did, however, send a text message half way around the world to let my friends in Taiwan that I could not, would not, sleep.

I was chatting with Alice couple days ago and she told me that she's on the MOS brochure. At first I didn't register what she meant--MOS? You "modeled" for the burger joint?

In which she responded with a sarcastic remark, I'm assuming she was being sarcastic... can't really tell on MSN. Anyway, MOS really stands for Ministry of Sound, a world renowned club that has a location in Taipei. I thought it was cool and I can't wait to see it.

I hate doing squats! But I gotta do what I gotta do to trim the fat outta my ass. There must be an easier way! Maybe I can liposuck the fat from my ass and implant them to my chest?! Hmm, very interesting.....

Interview here, interview there.

How many interviews must one go on, before she finds herself a job? The answer my friends, is blowing in the wind. The answer is blowing in the wind.

You must be thinking "wut da fuk?". I'm just bored right now. I went on an interview earlier and I have a phone interview in an hour and a half. The one earlier went okay. They're looking for someone with experience and truth be told, I know I'm not a qualified candidate. It's an import company and even though they're located in an industrial area, you should see the cars parked in the front. M3's, Porsches (2!), Clk's, and a Lexus. Dang, they must be rollin in the dough.

I'm still debating whether or not to switch fully from xanga to blogspot. I do love the color scheme. Sigh~ decisions, decisions.

New Site!

After a year of posting on Xanga, I decided to switch to blogspot. Change is always good right?

I have a phone interview tomorrow morning at 10 followed by 2 more interviews at 2pm and 2:45pm. Busy, busy, busy! I've been told that the 2 companies I'm meeting with are very impressed with my skillz, which means I'm going to try to milk them for my worth! I can't be picky, but I ain't cheap either. Gonna get my game face on!

In other news---huh, no other news.
